The Movie: “Bright Eyes” (1934): When a maid is accidentally hit by a car and killed, her young orphaned daughter is forced to live with the snooty couple for whom she used to work. A custody battle soon ensues between an aviator who adores the little girl and the couple’s crotchety Uncle Ned.
Featuring aircraft such as the Curtiss Condor and a DC-2, this classic Shirley Temple film is full of snarkiness, silliness, and sweetness. You won’t find a better melodrama!
