Yesterday, we completed the condition inspection on our latest acquisition. Gary Baglien has donated this original Pietenpol Air Camper to the Kelch Aviation Museum, and we are in the process of bringing it from New Richmond, Wis. to Brodhead.
This ship was built in 1936-37 by Bernard Pietenpol himself. Gary bought it from Bernard at his Cherry Grove, Minn. shop in 1965 and had had it ever since. It was fully restored by Frank Pavliga in 2009. It’s a beautiful example of this pioneering airplane and we are grateful to Gary for the donation.
