Directed by Oscar-winner (and real WWI pilot) William A. Wellman, this WWII-era drama stars John Sutton as an English boy who’s terrified of flying but is nonetheless determined to become a pilot to serve his country. While training, he meets Steve Britt (Preston Foster), who becomes his patient mentor. The two men’s bond is tested, however, when they both fall for the same girl (Gene Tierney).
