Behind the scenes in the museum’s Rudy Kopp Memorial Library & Archive: We often receive donations of unorganized materials, and our volunteer staff has to figure out a way to bring order out of the chaos. This photo shows several hundred vintage aviation magazines. For ease of processing, we sort the magazines by title, then sort the issues in each stack chronologically. We cross check a list of our current holdings to identify duplicate issues, which we may sell, and then add the remaining issues to our master list. It is very satisfying to bring order out of chaos. It is also hard not to stop and read the magazines because they offer a fascinating glimpse into the past!
