The Movie: “Power Dive” (1941)
Ace test pilot Brad is determined to succeed with new plastic airframe technology, designed by the father of the girl he loves. His aeronautical engineer brother, Doug, thinks flying is too dangerous – and falls for the same girl. Stakes are high and airplanes even higher in this fast-paced flick from the forties. Fun fact: This movie’s star, Richard Arlen, was a pilot and owned a flight school near Hollywood.
