The Movie: “Only Angels Have Wings,” (1939): At a remote South American trading port, the manager of an air-freight company is compelled to risk the lives of his pilots in order to win an important contract as a traveling American showgirl and an itinerant floozy stop by for a visit. Starring elegant Cary Grant and radiant Jean Arthur (plus a very young Rita Hayworth), and directed by legendary aviation moviemaker Howard Hawks, this film is brimming with star power AND star airplanes like the classic Ford Trimotor! Come play “Name that Plane” with us from the back row of seats.
