The Movie: “13 Hours by Air” (1936)
Airline pilot (and ladies’ man) Jack Gordon must fly the world’s fastest airliner from New York to California while dealing with dangerous jewel thieves on the run from the law… This sparky melodrama features a fascinating glimpse of real 1930s airports in their heyday, as well as a sprightly cast of characters, comedic moments, and a sleek Boeing 247 aircraft. Starring Fred MacMurray and Joan Bennett.
